Rye, NH

Dogs are prohibited from town beaches from 9am to 7pm beginning the Saturday before Memorial Day and ending the Saturday after Labor Day.

Kittery, ME

(Seapoint and Crescent): no dogs allowed from 10 am to 5 pm from June 15-Sept 10; Fort Foster seems to not have time restrictions.

Hampton, NH

Animals will be allowed on the Town of Hampton beaches from Memorial Day to Labor Day only after 6:00 PM in the evening and before 8:00 AM in the morning. See photo of their sign in the Gallery.

York, ME

(York Harbor Beach, Long Sands Beach, and Short Sands Beach): Dogs allowed until 8:00a.m. and after 6:00pm during the summer months. Cape Neddick Beach allows dogs (seemingly all the time).

Wells, ME

(Moody, Wells Beach, and Drake Island). Dogs are allowed on all although Wells does not allow dogs from 8 am to 6 pm in summer.

New York City

While not a "nearby town", NYC does allow dogs in all of its parks all year.. It even allows them off leash in designated areas before 9AM and after 9PM.
